©ough©ool The emotional affect of this record still gets to me 20 years later. Still sounds fresh & modern. This is a lovely trip down to nostalgia lane. I loved the First record Embrace the Eternal & I love this last record, both from completely different ends of the musical spectrum. I literally couldn't pass on this. Thank you first off for breaking the mold in the first place & second for releasing it years later Favorite track: Who's To Blame.

Eric Lee I grew up listening to these guys. We started going to see them every chance we got. They were always just good people, on top of making phenomenal music. After a show at 412 one night, Andy took the time to show me some of his guitar technique (this was even prior to the release of ‘Embrace the Eternal’, so I was learning slightly different stuff than what ‘Songs for the Living’ showcases). I used to occasionally run into Mark randomly, and he was always as friendly as anyone you’d ever hope to meet. All of that made an impression on me, and made me a fan for life. I enjoyed their journey from brutal metal all the way to this, and the “reunion” of the Famine (unfortunately, I was the “Halo of Winter” guy... sorry...). While I was in high school, right around when they were starting to make the transition from metal and Sean had joined, I remember skipping school to go see them promote their ‘upcoming album’ (Narrow Scope) at a mall in Arlington, Tx. I was pretty much grounded forever. Totally worth it. Haha

Reaching Out 04:07
Plain as day The industry we've started I'll ride your brain Turn away And leave the past around us I'm on my way, yea Set me up (set me up) I've paid my way(ive paid my way) I'm reaching, im reaching out And make a change The masses live ecstatic I'll ring your bell For all the times We gave it up for nothing I'll have my say Set me up (set me up) I've paid my way (ive paid my way) I'm reaching, im reaching out Have this I wanted more than love It's golden Where the Romans are Hold it Say you know what you taste Don't waste it There to live And give your all And build your dreams And kill your fears Set me up (set me up) I've paid my way (ive paid my way) I'm reaching, im reaching out

She's There 04:00
I'm giving up on heart conditions And loath the days of expectation She only visits for a second And leaves a nightmare for my soul I prayed that God would end this torture But now i fear to shut my eyes But in my head she's there I kick myself, recall her name But in my head i know She wanted me but i'm alone I only dwell on formal glories Relive the best days of my life But i refused to take her offer She wept and somehow found the door But in my head she's there I kick myself, recall her name But in my head i know She wanted me but i'm alone She's in my head...and i'll bring you home, clean all my mistakes What's done is done, and it goes on and on and on

Golden Rule 03:41
Help me, i've left a woman scorned Stay out, another chore undone Know this, i'm fading from your touch I'm hopeless, my conscious weighs me down I'm leavin, i'm cheatin And what comes around goes around Draw back, and let the loss sink in Hod on, and fish amongst the sea And tied down it's hard to be content And bail out the finger points at you I'm leavin, i'm cheatin And what comes around goes around I'm not your enemy...we just fell out I'm not your enemy...i found new blood Hold back your emotions Speak within reason Turn on the lights Put down the knife We can resolve this I'm leaving, i'm cheating And what comes around goes around

Time 03:21
For every word your saying and all the moments wasted im finding out your made for me with every look i catch and truth that isn't spoken im praying that you miss me miss me i'm nearly dead since you departed and ill wait for you and you say time is all we have before us and hold our moments and don't turn away im going out of faith and bringing my devotion and you can trust i won't shame you i'm nearly dead since you departed and ill wait for you and i say time is all we have before us and hold our moments and don't turn away right away i knew we could make it cause were living and learning and sacrafice tells us what we're gaining and losing and taking im holding out for the one that loves me forever no playing in a way they can say were crazy for hoping and praying ill wait for you time is all we have before us and hold our moments don't turn away

It's your bleeding heart And selling so well An hour too late Too much time to kill And forcing your tears And milking the pain And raking it in, the sin And i already know there's one chance around And the record shows you wanna make the grade And the word is out you sold your soul today And i already know Stick out your chest, the masses await A white collar side show The auction begins They'll tickle your ear And give you the grin And it's such a shame, who's to blame And i already know there's one chance around And the record shows you wanna make the grade And the word is out you sold your soul today And it's over... If you and i could find a way to make it right i'd go But here we stand with troubles minds and empty ands Let it pass, let it pass

Don't Go 03:45
Turn me up, get it on, i was yours, i was your man But not in your hands Pull away, take it back, break your vow, call on my name I've gone astray Lead me on, kiss my face, play my card, show me your way Cos i understand Take it off, spill your guts, lay it down, walk in my shoes Cos i'm in your hands And i'll role your way You have my heart in your hands-don't go We've come too far, hold on now- cos i want you Turn away, hide your face, show your spine and be a man You know what i mean Clean the page, share the view, be a doll call me tonight I'm here by the phone Roll the dice, take a chance, live your life outside your box And come to my world Make a fist, come aboard, bitter the taste in your mouth But that's how it goes And you rolled my way You have my heart in your hands-don't go We've come too far, hold on now- cause i want you Say you'll stay, make my day-don't go Say you're mine for all time-cause i want you Our souls will grow We'll carry on

Turn the lights out, hard ties out and grope Feed the body, break your oath and float I'm tired of dying for you And chatting with your ghost No, you don't need it No, you should fight it No, you don't need it...no Bite the bullet, sear your flesh and blow Take the ransom, don't look back and run She's tired of dancing for you and filling up your cup No, you don't need it No, you should fight it No, you don't need it...no Close your eyes Seal your grave Turn the lights out hard ties out and grope Feed the body, break your oath and float I'm tired of dying for you And chatting with your ghost And no...

It's Alright 03:49
Push the child into the wheel Make your memories long Take the leap into the space Don't look back in fear Now here my voice Baby, i made it and it's all right And i don't want it to end Chase your prize on through the grave Live beyond your dreams Seize the day and ride the wave Claim your destiny Now here my voice Baby, i made it and it's all right And i don't want it to end I reached beyond tall fables Vultures by my window Camera flashes daily Caught in the glare Welcome home! welcome home! Baby, i made it and it's all right And i don't want it to end

White Flag 04:37
I had a feelin we're losing And there was a reason, treason-denial I had a feelin they're waiting...they're waiting Raising up our hands White flag high In a day you can say you own it Draw the line and define your behavior I'm not like you, i won't be you Analyze all the lies you're promoting I had a feeling we're cheatin One has to make it, take it, or prove it I had a feelin it's over Raising up our hands White flag high In a day you can say you own it Draw the line and define your behavior I'm not like you, i won't be you Analyze all the lies you're promoting I'm not like you, i won't be you, i'm not like you We're at the end, the final lap, it's so alarming We made a case, turned a cheek, but who's responding Tell the truth, don't delay, so are you buying? Burn the bridge, take the loot, hit the target

Jaywalk 03:40
Clear your head one-time friend of mine She's cold blue and no skin Whisper prayers to make amends No promises to break Kiss my face and deny my name Once you were my own Close your eyes and resist the view And throw your cares away I called your name, come, come my way I blocked your face, come my way Take the night to an open road And choose your morbid fate Raise the stakes to a higher plain This is life or death I called your name, come, come my way

about

Embodyment Fort Worth, Texas

It was the pinnacle of everything that we had hoped to achieve musically except that it was forgotten and ignored. Embodyment tried diligently to support it with several years of hard touring in hopes that it would catch fire but it never happened. It was the music industry that had caught fire and quickly burned to the ground.

…and the album was forgotten.

So 16 years later, here it is...
